About the Principal

A native New Yorker, Baruti Bediako is completely in sync with the pace and lifestyles of his fellow New Yorkers. He can quickly get up to speed on the concerns and considerations of your organization, while still providing a rare personal touch. Baruti started in the accounting industry at KPMG Peat Marwick in 1978. From there, he advanced quickly, becoming certified in New York State in 1980 and then opening his own accounting firm in 1982; since then, his clientele has expanded to include small businesses in the service and retail industries, self-managed multi-unit properties, churches, and other nonprofits. Baruti is actively involved in contributing to the community: he currently serves as treasurer for two different nonprofit organizations. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and of the National Association of Black Accountants. With over 30 years of experience in public accounting in New York City, Baruti N. Bediako is able to offer a solid foundation of knowledge, a determination to keep pace with the latest advancements in technology, and a proven track record of commitment to the community that are as unique as New York City itself.
